Every note here assumes no background in markets. Where a term is unavoidable it is explained the first time it appears, and where a rule differs by country that is stated rather than glossed over.

How often it is updated
Notes are revisited whenever the underlying rules change — a new regulation, a new reporting requirement, a change in how deposits are handled. The date on each note is the date it was last checked, not the date it was first written.
